The US Embassy for Afghanistan, operating out of Qatar, issued a strong statement condemning the ongoing injustice faced by women under IEA rule. The statement highlighted the severe implications of the IEA’s oppressive policies. It described the situation as a significant threat to global justice and human rights efforts.

The US Embassy emphasized that the IEA’s persistent denial of women’s education and employment rights poses far-reaching global repercussions. “The IAG (Interim Afghan Government) must recognize that the ongoing injustice not only harms Afghanistan’s future but also challenges global human rights commitments,” the statement read.

One of the key issues addressed was the closure of health institutes and educational opportunities for girls and women. The embassy described this as a direct challenge to international gender equality efforts. It urged the IEA to reconsider these policies before they cause irreversible harm.

“The US concern over the IEA’s oppression of women is a warning to Afghan authorities,” analysts noted, “that their disregard for justice is not just a national issue but a global concern. The world is watching, and time is running out for the IAG to correct its course.”

The US Embassy further called for global unity in demanding justice and equality for Afghan women under IEA rule, stressing that the international community would not remain silent in the face of systemic injustice. This potent warning underscores the need for immediate action to address the plight of Afghan women and protect their rights.
