Stanekzai Denies Existence of Conflicts Among Islamic Emirate Members

Deputy Foreign Minister Stanekzai refutes claims of conflicts among Islamic Emirate members, emphasizing unity and progress.

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai serves as the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs. He dismissed claims of conflicts among members of the Islamic Emirate.

Stanekzai stated at an event in Kabul that any differences do not revolve around positions or wealth accumulation. Instead, these differences arise from varied perspectives on the development and progress of the country.

He said: “For about a week now, you may have heard in the media that different outlets have been discussing supposed conflicts among officials within the Islamic Emirate. They have been speculating on different factions and reasons. Today, I declare from this platform that, praise be to God, as one of the founding members of the Islamic Emirate, I can confirm that there are absolutely no such conflicts within our administration.”

The Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized that the country should not allow certain issues to cause discord or disorder. He also stressed the importance of addressing these issues constructively.

Stanekzai said: “When some of our leaders speak at conferences or in the media about topics like education, economy, or politics, the international community, media, and our people should not interpret this as signs of conflict or issues among us. We have seen the results of past divisions. For forty years, internal conflicts plagued past regimes, leading to the war, destruction, and devastation that Afghanistan still faces today.”

Call for Unity

Stanekzai further stressed the importance of unity among the country’s citizens, viewing it as essential for the nation’s advancement. He noted, “We must learn from our past to prevent a situation where, God forbid, internal discord or civil wars could re-emerge, leaving Afghanistan vulnerable to foreign occupation. We must not reach a point where we depend on other countries.”

Earlier, some other officials from the Islamic Emirate had also dismissed claims of internal conflicts, labeling them as propaganda against the interim government.
