Today, on this Palestine Solidarity Day, we remember that the Gaza Genocide killed over 40,000 Palestinians in its horrifying first year, leaving 75% of Gaza dependent on aid. The conflict destroyed homes and caused continued suffering for children.

September 26, 2024 – At the UNGA, PM Shahbaz Sharif reiterates Pakistan’s unwavering stance on Palestine, calling for immediate action against Israel’s atrocities and an end to the illegal settlements. “The time for justice is now,” he said.
October 28, 2023 – Pakistan’s Ambassador Munir Akram delivers his powerful UNGA address, calling the illegal occupation of Palestine the “original sin” of the global order. He condemned the human rights violations in Gaza and the West Bank.
May 3, 2024– Pakistan’s representative at the United Nations, Munir Akram, strongly condemns Israel’s 57-year occupation of Palestine, describing it as both brutal and unjust. Additionally, he critiques the United Nations’ 1947 partition decision regarding Palestine, attributing it to the current crisis in the region. Meanwhile, radical Israeli leadership heightens tensions by issuing threats of an assault on Rafah.
October 18, 2022 – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed the OIC, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. He condemned the Israeli airstrikes on civilian homes and called for international intervention.

Since 2023, Gaza remains in ruins. Over 40% of its buildings are damaged. Hospitals struggle to function due to blockades. Children make up the majority of those affected. Pakistan and Afghanistan’s voices at the UN, OIC, and Human Rights Council stand as symbols of resistance against oppression.
