This year, educators have established more than 4,000 literacy classes across the country.
The Ministry of Education states that last year, they had also succeeded in creating over 9,000 literacy classes nationwide.
According to Mansoor Ahmad Hamza, the ministry’s spokesperson, educators established 4,583 new courses this year. A total of 85,785 students are actively engaged in learning.
Some students enrolled in these classes say that they have gained the ability to read and write by participating. They are asking officials for more resources to facilitate literacy education.
Farhad, one of the literacy students, said, “We are very grateful to our teacher, who worked so hard to teach us and helped us reach a point where we can now write. Our request to the Islamic Emirate is for more support in this effort.”
Another student, Gul Mullah, said, “In the past, we couldn’t even write a single name. We thank our teacher for his cooperation, and our request to the Islamic Emirate is to continue this effort and to establish more courses.”
According to ministry officials, last year, the Ministry of Education created more than 9,000 literacy classes, with over 49,000 people actively engaged in learning.
