Suhail Shaheen, the acting ambassador of the Islamic Emirate in Qatar, responded to the recent remarks of the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, saying that the IEA seeks to resolve disputes through dialogue but will not accept pressure.

Shaheen added that those who support the policy of pressure should learn a lesson from the recent struggles of the Afghan people.

Regarding this, the Islamic Emirate’s acting ambassador in Qatar said: “The policy of the Islamic Emirate is to resolve issues peacefully through dialogue; however, in the face of pressure and aggression, the recent struggles of the Afghan nation are a sufficient lesson for everyone to learn from.”

Earlier, the US Secretary of State had said that reports suggest the “Taliban” have detained more American citizens than previously reported.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated: “Just hearing the Taliban is holding more American hostages than has been reported. If this is true, we will have to immediately place a VERY BIG bounty on their top leaders, maybe even bigger than the one we had on Bin Laden.”

“This is an opportunity for countries, including the US, to work through understanding, policy, and coordination. On the other hand, the Islamic Emirate should also engage in diplomacy,” Edris Mohammadi Zazai, a political affairs expert, told TOLOnews.

“The tensions between the US and the Islamic Emirate should be resolved through peaceful means following the exchange of information, which would benefit both countries,” said Sayed Muqaddam Amin, a military analyst.

Prior to the Secretary of State’s comments, the White House National Security Council spokesperson also stated that Donald Trump is seeking the release of all detained Americans in Afghanistan.
