IE Leader Takes Control of Military Equipment Distribution

The leader of the Islamic Emirate has issued an eight-point decree. This decree removes authority over the distribution of weapons, ammunition, and military equipment. The Ministries of Interior, Defense, and the Directorate of Intelligence previously held this authority.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, confirmed the decree to TOLOnews. He added that, from now on, the leader’s direct order will be required for the use or distribution of military equipment. This includes arms and ammunition. The measure aims to ensure the proper use and safety of weapons.

Mujahid said, “This measure aims to better protect weaponry, preventing the use of arms and other military assets in unnecessary situations and enhancing their overall security.”

Centralized Control Over Military Equipment

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior stated that henceforth, the leader of the Islamic Emirate will order any distribution of arms and equipment stored in depots.

Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, said: “From now on, the Islamic Emirate’s leadership will directly authorize the distribution of any surplus weapons or those recovered from unauthorized individuals and stored in depots as public property. This policy seeks to prevent misuse of public resources and ensure proper preservation and protection. Security departments or Islamic Emirate authorities will submit any necessary requests to the high leadership for approval.”

Zalmai Afghan Yar, a military affairs expert, described the directive as a positive step. He said, “There have always been individuals in power. These individuals misuse weapons for personal gain.”

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior stated that the leader of the Islamic Emirate has issued a directive. Specifically, the directive requires the Ministry of Interior to exclusively issue firearms licenses. Moreover, these licenses will be for civilian organizations, merchants, money exchangers, and citizens.
