The Afghan Red Crescent Society, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation and the Al-Basar International Foundation, has provided free eye treatment services for patients in Kabul.
Shahabuddin Delawar, the acting head of the Afghan Red Crescent, said that during this six-day campaign, more than 8,000 patients were diagnosed, and 800 of them underwent free surgeries.
Shahabuddin Delawar, the acting head of the Afghan Red Crescent, stated: “A very large and effective program will be launched at the central hospital of the Afghan Red Crescent, where about eight thousand patients will be examined.”
At the same time, an official from the Al-Basar International Foundation said that they plan to hold this program in other provinces as well and will also provide training to doctors in this field.

Rizwan Ahmed Baluch, the head of the Al-Basar International Charity Foundation in Afghanistan, said: We also train some doctors, they will (God willing) do these camps in the other area, just like we in the last — in 2023, we (did) a camp in Kandahar, and in the beginning of this January and February we do a camp in Herat so our planning is this, we cover all Afghanistan.”
Patients who have come to this hospital for treatment have expressed satisfaction with the establishment of such medical camps and urged the Ministry of Health and the Afghan Red Crescent to provide more free medical services for them.
Mohammad Ishaq, a patient, said: “We thank the government and the charity organization that is treating us.”
Sardar, another patient, said: “My vision is weak. I heard that doctors from the Red Crescent are here, so I came from Kunduz for treatment.”
It should be noted that last solar year, this charity foundation also established eye treatment camps in Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, and some other provinces for eye-related illnesses.
