Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy prime minister for economic affairs of the Islamic Emirate, has traveled to Qatar, and met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the country’s prime minister and foreign minister, to discuss investments and other economic matters.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani discussed various issues including economic matters and investments of Qatar in Afghanistan, said Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate.
This visit is expected to last for three days.

Regarding the visit, Fitrat said: “Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Qatar. During this meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, economic issues, and investment opportunities.”
Political analysts consider the expansion of Afghanistan’s relations with Arab countries, especially Qatar, crucial for the country’s economic growth.
“Such high-level delegations traveling abroad benefits us because we need to understand the language of the world, learn what they want, how trade is conducted, and how relations are established. Overall, we must figure out how to open this closed door,” Mohammad Nabi Afghan, an economic analyst, told TOLOnews.
“If Afghanistan can attract Qatari investments, it will undoubtedly help in solving economic challenges. Qatar, in general, can assist Afghanistan in various fields, whether diplomatic or economic,” said Abdul Zuhoor Mudaber, an economic analyst.
Previously, other officials of the Islamic Emirate, including acting Minister of Defense Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi, and former Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mullah Abdul Kabir also visited Qatar.
