Under the esteemed directive of His Eminence, the Amir-ul-Mu’minin Sheikh Sahib, may his protection be ensured, and utilizing the unique budget of the Islamic Emirate, the Kandahar Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department spearheaded the construction and activation of these 11 check dams across nine districts of Kandahar during the current year of 1403 AH, amounting to a total cost of 26,731,320 Afghanis.

Engineer Noor Mohammad Hammar, the head of the check dams section within the Kandahar Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department, highlighted that these 11 check dams were completed over the past ten months in Ghorak, Kocha Maiwand, Ghansh Maiwand, Khakrez, Ghansh Shawalikot, Registan, and Khakrez districts of Kandahar, with one dam each, and in Nesh and Arghistan districts, two dams each. These structures have been activated to benefit local farmers and livestock, contributing to the region’s agricultural and livestock sustainability.
