The Ministry of Transport and Aviation has announced a delegation’s visit to Uzbekistan for the participation in a meteorology conference, including the heads of the airport authority and meteorology department of the Islamic Emirate.
According to Imamuddin Ahmadi, the ministry’s spokesperson, the conference will be held on November 4 and is expected to focus on collaboration in areas such as meteorological equipment, meteorological models, access to meteorology satellites, and ways to reduce risks from natural disasters.
The ministry spokesperson said: “The purpose of this trip is participation in Uzbekistan’s meteorology conference, which is being organized in cooperation with the International Meteorological Organization. The conference will include various seminars on international meteorology satellite access and workshops on new meteorological equipment.”

Meanwhile, some experts view the Islamic Emirate’s participation in such conferences as not only beneficial for developing Afghanistan’s relations but also effective in strengthening the country’s meteorological system.
Sayed Mohammad Sulaiman Khail, a climate change expert, said: “Afghanistan’s participation in such conferences and gatherings is very important and essential because it increases technical and professional capacity in this field and can also reduce casualties and financial losses from natural disasters.”
Shamsurrahman Ahmadzai, an economic expert, said: “Advanced countries hold technical and professional workshops in this area to train our personnel, enabling us to take necessary preventative measures through skilled and trained citizens within the country.”
According to information from the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, the delegation also includes representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Energy and Water, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and the National Disaster Management Authority.
