Uzbek Language Day Celebrated in Jawzjan

An educational organization celebrated Uzbek Language Day in Jawzjan with an exhibition.

The organizers of this event called on officials to make greater efforts to promote the Uzbek language.

Ali Shir Entezar, a cultural activist, said: “Higher education institutions should give more attention to supporting Uzbek language departments, and media programs should include good support for Uzbek language and literature. This is our main demand.”

Karomatullah Azizi, another cultural activist, said: “Readers and staff should have access to textbooks and regional curriculum materials.”

Hesamuddin Tuyghun, a university professor, said: “We have some academic staff, but there is a serious need for more personnel at the master’s and doctorate levels, and the Islamic Emirate should focus on this.”

Several poets, writers, cultural figures, and local officials gathered at this exhibition to commemorate this day.

Meanwhile, the head of Jawzjan’s Information and Culture Department urged all citizens to focus on unity and acceptance.

“May God Bless the Youth to Use Their Nation, Language, and Homeland Positively,” said Saifudin Mutasem, head of the Department of Information and Culture of Jawzjan province.

The previous government recognized October 20 as National Uzbek Language Day and included it in Afghanistan’s official calendar.
