A youth media workshop by Pak Afghan Youth Forum (PAYF) was conducted from the 29th– 31st of October; hosting numerous Afghan students and media personalities in Islamabad for 3 days. This enabled the participants and speakers to interact physically rather than virtually, enabling the youth of the two nations to foster a deeper understanding and mutual respect. It aided in promoting unique cultural exchange. The workshop involved activities like interactive lectures, talks, exposure visits, and other various hands-on exercises that the participants enjoyed and learned from. The participants also made a documentary about Pak-Afghan closeness as an exercise for the workshop.
There are insurmountable challenges that lie ahead for the youth of both nations and PAYF feels that the best chance of excelling at these tasks is if to collaborate and cultivate a lasting relationship amongst the youth. Therefore, this workshop was not only a learning opportunity but was also an unforgettable example of the hospitality by the youth of Pakistan towards the incoming youth of Afghanistan.
The Media Workshop invited Ms. Wajiha Akram, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Pro-training as the Guest of Honor for the opening ceremony, and H.E Ahmad Shakir Qarar, First Secretary at the Afghan Embassy Islamabad as the Guest of Honor on its closing dinner and cultural night.
