On Monday, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed the annual Hajj agreement for 2025. The agreement allows 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims to perform Hajj this year. It also offers them special accommodation in Mina at reduced rates.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabiah signed the Hajj 2025 agreement between both countries in Jeddah. Pakistan has received one of the high Hajj quotas from Saudi Arabia.

Under the agreement, the best facilities will be provided to Pakistani pilgrims. This includes special accommodation in Mina during the holy pilgrimage, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Furthermore, the ministry introduced a short Hajj program of 20 to 25 days in order to make the journey more accessible, easier, and comfortable. As a result, this program will enable pilgrims to choose their accommodation in Madinah for four to eight days.

The policy added that each pilgrim will receive a specially designed bag containing the Pakistani flag, a QR code for identification, and relevant information.

Additionally, pilgrims will receive all information via a special mobile app. This app will help them stay updated about their Hajj groups, flight details, training schedules, live maps, location of sites, and accommodations in Saudi Arabia.

According to Pakistan’s Hajj Policy 2025, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) allows Pakistani women to travel to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage without a male guardian (mahram). However, women must obtain consent from their husbands or parents to register for the annual Hajj.

Regarding children, the policy states that the Saudi government will not permit minors under the age of 12 years to participate in the pilgrimage.

Hajj

The Hajj is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. It involves a series of rituals in Makkah and its surroundings in western Saudi Arabia. As a result, these rituals take several days to complete.

All Muslims who have the means to do so must perform Hajj at least once, as it is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Hajj, one of the fundamental pillars of Islam, is performed each year by millions of Muslims worldwide. Pakistan receives one of the highest Hajj quotas from Saudi Arabia.
