On September 6, 2024, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotic Forces (ANF) conducted an intelligence-based operation in Islamabad and apprehended a drug dealer. They seized 1.2 kg of hashish and 250 grams of crystal meth (ice) from the dealer. The dealer confessed to distributing drugs to students in hostels in the F-10, F-8, and E-11 sectors of the capital. The authorities have charged the suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
CSS Aspirant Arrested for Drug Distribution
Earlier, on August 27, the ANF arrested a CSS aspirant. The aspirant had supplied cannabis and other narcotics to educational institutions and hostels. According to an ANF spokesperson, this arrest was part of a broader campaign to combat drug trafficking in schools and colleges.
Authorities carried out the operation near a private student hostel in Islamabad, seizing 120 grams of cannabis. The suspect, hailing from Chagai, confessed to selling drugs to students. He targeted a prominent educational institution and hostels in the area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was preparing for the CSS exams. He acknowledged his involvement in supplying drugs to university and hostel students. Authorities have charged the suspect under the Anti-Narcotics Act and are conducting further inquiries.
Last Week Operations & Seizures
In a related development, last week, the ANF seized narcotics worth over Rs20 million in various operations, as reported by Express News. During four different raids, authorities confiscated 234 kg of drugs and arrested five individuals.
One major seizure occurred on Islamabad’s M1 Motorway, where authorities intercepted a vehicle carrying 123.6 kg of opium and 108 kg of hashish, resulting in the arrest of two suspects. In Faisalabad, at Kamalpur Interchange, ANF officers found 1.5 kg of heroin on a woman. In Karachi, authorities recovered 400 grams of crystal meth from a suspect near Hub River Road and seized 200 grams of hashish from an individual near a local university.
Authorities have charged all suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and they are continuing the investigations.
