The Afghan White Gold Cotton factory in Herat province is making significant strides in the textile industry, producing over seven tons of yarn daily for export. Haji Zamarai Shirzai, the factory’s head, shared insights with the Bakhtar News Agency on the operations and impact of the facility.

The factory sources its cotton from the western and southwestern provinces of Afghanistan, transporting the raw material for conversion into high-quality yarn. The daily production of seven tons of yarn not only meets domestic needs but also caters to international markets, with exports heading to countries such as Iran, Turkey, and China.

Employing 220 workers across three shifts, the Afghan White Gold Cotton factory plays a crucial role in providing jobs and supporting the local economy.

Mawlawi Bashir Mohammad Seerat, the head of industry and commerce in Herat, emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to achieving self-sufficiency in domestic production. He noted that the government is actively providing necessary facilities to investors to promote industrial growth, fostering an environment conducive to economic development.
