UAE Eases Visa Regulations for Pakistani Citizens

ISLAMABAD  –  In a major diplomatic breakthrough, the United Arab Emirates has eased its visa regulations for Pakistani citizens including the introduction of a new 5-year multiple-entry visa for UAE.

Diplomatic sources confirmed that UAE visa has been eased now for Pakistanis with immediate effect. UAE visa centers in Pakistan have started implementing the new visa regime.

The sources said that under the changed visa regulations now, to get a UAE visa, a Pakistani applicant does not need a guarantor and host from UAE.

UAE visa for Pakistanis was suspended last year following reports of involvement of Pakistani citizens in begging, crimes, and violating social media regulations while visiting UAE, however, diplomatic sources said, scrutiny of visa applications of Pakistani nationals will be carried out so that it could be established that the visitor have a genuine business of visiting UAE.

A large number of Pakistani citizens including job seekers, and temporary visitors, were facing problems in obtaining UAE visas.

Pakistan’s ambassador to UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizi took up the matter with UAE authorities and got the issue resolved. Now UAE visa centers in Pakistan have started implementing the new visa regime.

Every year, thousands of Pakistani citizens undertake visits to Dubai and Abu Dhabi for holidays and recreational activities.

Over 2 million Pakistani citizens are working in different fields in the United Arab Emirates, many of them having large-scale businesses.
