The head of the IEA’s Information and Culture Department in Helmand says that as a result of lightning and heavy rainfall and floods in the districts of Sangin, Musa Qala, and Babaji, 5 people, including women and children, have lost their lives, and 6 others have been injured.
Hafiz Abdulbari Rashid, the head of the Information and Culture Department in Helmand, told the media on Wednesday, February 26, that in the Shahzada area of Sangin district, the roof of a house collapsed due to the flood, killing two children.
According to him, in the Gereshk district of Helmand, a lightning strike hit a house, leaving 6 people injured, further adding that in the Musa Qala district, three more people died as a result of the floods.

Helmand province experiences heavy rainfall and flooding every year, which causes both human and material losses.
This comes after a previous tragedy in Farah province, where 21 people, including women and children, lost their lives due to flooding.
