Afghanistan to Face Thailand in Friendly Match Ahead of Asian Cup Qualifiers

The Afghanistan national football team will face the Thailand national football team tomorrow, Friday, March 21 in a friendly match.

The Afghanistan-Thailand game comes ahead of the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and is scheduled to take place at 5:30 PM Afghanistan time.

The Khurasan Lions of Afghanistan have traveled to Thailand for a training camp and are set to play this friendly match with the Thai national team before heading to Myanmar for their playoff match to qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup.

The Afghanistan’s squad, which has been called up by Uzbekistan coach, includes goalkeepers Owies Azizi, Faisal Ahmad Hamidi, and Isa Azizi; defenders Abdul Najm Haidari, Mahboub Hanfi, Thomas Safri, Suleiman Zarmati, Habibullah Askar, Amanullah Sardari, and Mohammad Naeem Rahimi; midfielders Rahmat Akbari, Hamid Amiri, Zulfaqari Nazari, Omid Popalzi, Abdulrazak Ghafari, Adam Ali Rostami; and forwards Farid Sadaat, Farhad Ali Zadeh, Omid Mousavi, Peyman Soltani, Masoor Ahadi, and Toofi Sekandari.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s national beach football team will play their first match in the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Championship against the UAE national team tomorrow.

The 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Championship will begin today in Thailand and will continue until the 30th of March, 2025.

The Afghanistan Football Federation announced on its Facebook page that the national beach football team will face the United Arab Emirates in the opening match of the Asian Cup tournament.

These matches mark an important moment for Afghanistan’s national teams as they prepare for significant international tournaments. Both the football and beach football teams are gearing up for crucial competitions, reflecting their continued commitment to improving performance on the global stage.
